Northern Ireland Child Care Reports held and Guidance links and Information Held

The Department of Health Northern Ireland have been very helpful and have answered a Freedom of Information Request [3] asking for what other reports on child abuse they hold other than the Hughes Inquiry Report.
They have answered in 2 sections. The first section is links of interest and second is the reports they hold. This is a shining example to all other authorities and Departments in how to be helpful in answering FOI requests.
The Reports they hold may be accessed by Freedom of Information Requests and this site is recommended for those who wish to do this
The list is probably not the totality of what they hold but is an excellent start. The links are published below and below them are the data given ie the list of  Reports held

Section 1  Links of Interest [1]

I refer to your request under the above legislation for details of reports the department holds on Child Sexual Abuse from 1970 to the present. On further clarification you request details of ‘in depth Reports or Papers commissioned or authored to report on a potential or perceived problem of child sexual abuse in Northern Ireland, or in a childrens home, or in an council/authority area’.In response to your request I have included the link to ‘A Better Future – 50 Years of Child Care in Northern Ireland 1950-2000’, which describes the changes, developments and progress made in relation to child care in Northern Ireland during those decades, and includes the titles of reports and guidance. For your convenience I have attached these titles separately, some of which relate to other parts of the UK.

I have also included links to Reports and guidance which you may find useful, all of which are included on the Department’s website.
