PJ: need to be clear about what inquiry is to achieve. And need dedicated police team, to immediately respond and act

0 replies 1 retweet 2 favorites

PJ: we need a 2 month consultation, using social media, etc, to get voice of survivors out there. You have to be united

0 replies 1 retweet 1 favorite

PJ: they have failed to get inquiry off ground. Does require correct people to be involved, those with ability and knowledge

SC: after Rotherham, everyone has moved on. We are here to speak on your behalf, coming together, helping get your voice across

0 replies 1 retweet 0 favorites

SC: genuinely quite scared. Privatisation, cutting budgets, how will one get justice? And things must be addressed nationally

0 replies 5 retweets 1 favorite

(Sitting in cramped position, and foot has just died, so give me a mo!)

0 replies 1 retweet 6 favorites

SC: first people asked if it mattered whether 4 or 1400 people. Finds this despicable. And files disappeared

SC: we are not letting go on this. Wants to give info on ongoing horror from Rotherham. Excellent inquiry chaired by Alexis Jay

0 replies 3 retweets 1 favorite

SC: because people have been through channels, and been ignored. So come here to make bloody big noise and be listened to.

0 replies 4 retweets 2 favorites

Now about to speak

0 replies 3 retweets 0 favorites

TH: believes passionately that only when these admit what they’ve done that we might be able to cleanse, get justice

0 replies 2 retweets 1 favorite

TH: whistleblowers – many in orgs know about this type of pressure – why don’t we hear from some of them?

0 replies 1 retweet 0 favorites

TH: even powerful international organisations would find it hard to ignore stat inquiry.

0 replies 3 retweets 0 favorites

TH: is it not time for full investigation into role of insurers? In my view, this is another reason for statutory inquiry

0 replies 4 retweets 1 favorite

TH: many tried to protect own commercial interest. He finds it immoral and obscene, and part of the abuse itself

0 replies 5 retweets 4 favorites

TH: Mr Cameron, one doesn’t have to be conspiracy theorist in order to recognise common patterns of behaviour

0 replies 5 retweets 4 favorites

TH: in recent months found this has been commonplace across the country. For example in church telling survivors cannot admit liability

0 replies 6 retweets 0 favorites

TH: this would have led to claims for compensation. But was able to resist these demands. But they targeted other members of council

0 replies 4 retweets 0 favorites

TH: also told must not release to press name of Ind Childcare Advisor being used, as she had been part of Pindown inquiry

0 replies 4 retweets 1 favorite

TH: approached by insurers trying to steer course. Told mustn’t apologise to victims, as this implies guilt

0 replies 5 retweets 1 favorite

TH: wants to look at influence of some insurance companies. In own authority, tried to set up inquiry into abuse in a children’s home

0 replies 6 retweets 2 favorites

TH: abuse was covered up and colluded with by major institutions, including aspects of political system. Inquiry much look at this

0 replies 7 retweets 1 favorite

TH: doesn’t really matter if files destroyed, we know PIE was funded by Home Office Voluntary Services Unit

0 replies 8 retweets 1 favorite

TH: Some politicians as well as others out to seek redress. You as survivors can’t do it alone, need other people, whistleblowers MdKelvie

0 replies 3 retweets 1 favorite

0 replies 1 retweet 0 favorites

IMcF: in a room full of people who can hold those to account who failed us, and ensure in future that won’t happen again to our children

0 replies 1 retweet 0 favorites

IMcF: we are coming from two different angles. Not going to criticise panel, but wants inquiry transparent and fit for purpose.

0 replies 5 retweets 4 favorites

IMcF: this is not inquiry about child abuse. Having this meeting here because people who sat in this house through decades fajled uw

0 replies 3 retweets 1 favorite

0 replies 5 retweets 0 favorites

AL: Scotland now agreed to have own inquiry. Ireland had 3000 people on theirs, but 80 000 came forward.

0 replies 6 retweets 3 favorites

AL: says he was targeted by a member of the panel. Has only had silence. Asks for unity and to work together

0 replies 3 retweets 1 favorite

AL: Ireland are bankrupt but can do this, why can’t we do so here? All we do is arms manufacturers,

0 replies 3 retweets 2 favorites

AL: …Royal Commission, Uk one comparing unfavourably with this. Australia has fraction of population. And looking at Ireland, gvt agency

Please note that victims of abuse may be triggered by reading this information. The Sanctuary for the Abused [A] has advice on how to prevent triggers.  National Association for People Abused in Childhood [B] has a freephone helpline and has links to local support groups. Other useful sites are One in Four [C] and Havoca [D]. Useful post on triggers [E] from SurvivorsJustice [F] blog.
