Knox Cunningham MP is fairly well known to have been a child abuser at Kincora
Below are Martin Dillons comments on him, as I have not seen the Trigger Men extract before [HT Truthseeker1 @thewakeupcall09, I wish he would start blogging]
“Within the higher echelons of Unionism there was a secret homosexual world that McKeague had access to. Sir Knox Cunningham, an establishment figure and Westminster MP, was at the centre of a paedophile ring that held parties at a house in an English seaside resort. Boys and young men from the lower social classes in Northern Ireland were taken to those parties. Knox Cunningham was a friend of the well known homosexual Sir Anthony Blunt, the Keeper of the Queen’s Pictures, who was eventually unmasked as a Soviet spy. He and Knox Cunningham had met at Cambridge.”
Sir Samuel Knox Cunningham, 1st Baronet, QC (3 April 1909 – 29 July 1976) was a Northern Irish barrister, businessman and politician. As an Ulster Unionist politician at a time when the Unionists were part of the Conservative Party, he was also a significant figure in United Kingdom politics as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Harold Macmillan. So this must be the about the same time as Lord Boothby was active.
In the 1955 general election, Cunningham was chosen as the new Ulster Unionist MP for South Antrim. He was a delegate to the Council of Europe and Western European Union Parliamentary Assembly from 1956 to 1959. He also served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Jocelyn Simon, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, from 1958. In 1959 he was made a Queen’s Counsel. After the 1959 general election, Cunningham was picked by Prime Minister Harold Macmillan as his Parliamentary Private Secretary
Samuel Knox Cunningham from 1960 to 1963 approx lived at Woodland cottage,
Chelsfield Lane, Chelsfield near to Orpington in Kent
Just a reminder that the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry is continuing in Northern Ireland and the Module 15 – Kincora and Bawnmore is going on for a couple more weeks. Whilst the documentation link from there is not particularly easy to find, the link is at the top right of the module page. The documents are here , but you will need to scroll down to the links. There is an abundance of information, which is being added to all the time and well worth a visit if you have time.
This raises the questions
- Who transported the boys?
- How were the boys transported to England?
- Which seaside resort was it?
- What address was the house and who owned it?
- How is the Goddard Inquiry is going to deal with this?
The seaside town Martin is probably talking about is Brighton as this is mentioned elsewhere in his book Martin Dillon The Triggermen (see below) HT @zante03 [Blackpool has also been given by a reputable source as a location to which boys were transported from Kincora]
