Marilyn Van Derbur was born in 1937 and became Miss Colorado 1957 and in 1958 Miss America.
Marilyn is an incest survivor, who blanked out what happened to her until her late 30’s. A while later she suffered intermittent paralysis for some months and so she went into therapy.
In 1990 she publically revealed that she was an incest survivor by her father from age 5 to 18. Within weeks, over 3,000 men and women came forward in the greater Denver area for help and support.

She founded an organization called SUN (Survivor United Network) which I believe to be this one [4]
Marilyn also wrote a book, Miss America By Day, [3], in which, using her experiences and research, she shares knowledge and insights on incest.
